Will the USS Enterprise Be Sunk To Start A War With Iran - Updated

No, the above headline is not deceptive, or meant to be sensational. I found this alert from Rueters, and in following-up on the USS Enterprise, I found another article posted in the US Navy forum that literally made me feel sick to my stomach:

US Navy says starts naval exercises in Gulf waters

LONDON, Nov 2 (Reuters) - The U.S. Navy said it had begun a series of exercises in the Gulf and wider Gulf waters on Friday involving a U.S aircraft carrier and two expeditionary assault ships.

In a statement the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet headquartered in Bahrain said it had begun a five-day crisis response exercise involving amphibious, air and medical forces in the Gulf.

It also said the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise and its strike group and another expeditionary strike group had begun training in wider Gulf waters. MORE

The article above taken at face value means nothing to the casual observer, and at first glance it didn't impact me that much until I Googled the USS Enterprise, and here is what I found, and since it was posted on the US Navy Forum - I took special note of the extremely sinister allegations that post included:

PREPARE FOR THE SINKING OF A U.S. AIRCRAFT CARRIER - The USS Enterprise CVN-65!

IRAN WAR PLAN EXPOSED!
PREPARE FOR THE SINKING OF A U.S. AIRCRAFT CARRIER - The USS Enterprise CVN-65!
From: RBOW

The existence of a hideous plan to sacrifice a U.S. Aircraft Carrier as a
pretext for war with Iran is presently being uncovered!

The Hal Turner Show has been told that within the next five (5) weeks, the
United States will "suffer" a missile attack upon the aircraft carrier USS
Enterprise, presently on patrol near the Persian Gulf. This attack will appear
to be from numerous "Silkworm" and/or "Sunburn" missiles which will sink the
vessel and kill most of the 5,000 crew onboard.

The "attack" will be blamed on Iran and thus provide the Bush Administration
with an excuse to go to war with that nation.

The Hal Turner Show has learned that the missiles used to attack the USS
Enterprise will not be fired from or by Iran, but rather will be a "false flag
operation" made to LOOK as though Iran carried out the attack!!

The USS Enterprise is the worlds first nuclear powered aircraft carrier. It
was Commissioned in 1961 and is due to be decommissioned in 2014 or 2015. The
ship was selected to be the "victim" of this "attack" due to its age.

THOSE PLANNING THE ATTACK ARE INSIDE THE U.S. AND ISRAELI GOVERNMENTS and view
the loss of the Enterprise crew as a necessary sacrifice to induce Americans to
support war against Iran. Put bluntly, the ship and crew are to be cannon
fodder. MUCH MORE

Understandably, anyone will note that this post on the US Navy Forum predicted this event to occur in 2006, however, from this writer's viewpoint, exposing the potential danger to the USS Enterprise could have helped to sour those plans, as the public was made aware of the plot. When I read the Post in the Navy Forum, I felt it best to be safe rather than sorry later, and repost this information in case such an even should occur. We all know that Bush and Cheney (Especially Darth Cheney) are itching to bomb Iran, and with Dennis Kucinich vowing to bring impeachment proceedings against Vice-President Cheney before Thanksgiving LINK, we need to be particularly observant of anything that could be used to start a war with Iran - or places US military personnel in harms way. Why are we still saber-rattling in the Gulf rather than attempting to deescalate tensions?

Most of us aware that the US Special Forces and Israeli Mossad Units are some of the best in the world at infiltrating and commandeering enemy positions; Whereas the post in the US Navy Forum speculated the attack would be via Chinese made Silkworm missiles, the stakes have been raised much higher, and Iran has deployed the fearsome Russian made Sunburn Anti-ship Missile throughout the straights of Hormuz, and commandeering one of those positions and firing several of those at the USS Enterprise would be child's-play for CIA, US Special Forces, or even the Mossad. I have never underestimated the capability of any of those agencies - and with our history of False-Flag attacks, this is a matter that we need to keep on eye on - whether it's a probability, possibility, or in the alternative, pure poppycock.

I have no inside information that any of the above is true, and am merely posting this information because if the US was to sacrifice any of our Carriers to start a war with Iran - it would seem highly probable to me that we would sacrifice the USS Enterprise since it is due to be deactivated upon completion of the CVNX 1. LINK Here is the page that includes the history of the USS Enterprise which was commissioned on 25 November 1961 - making it a Carrier that is the oldest nuclear powered Carrier in our Fleet. LINK

UPDATE: This article was just published on Op-Ed News by Michael Salla, Ph.D.; I am reproducing the first three paragraphs of this important analysis, and I strongly recommend that anyone interested in this subject follow the link and read the Op-Ed in its entirety. Thank you Mr. Salla for articulating the extreme danger our military personnel in the Persian Gulf face as Bush and Israel continue to ramp-up the rhetoric for war against Iran:

The Neoconservative Agenda to Sacrifice the Fifth Fleet – The New Pearl Harbor

The Bush administration has covered up and ignored dissenting Pentagon war games analysis that suggests an attack on Iran’s nuclear or military facilities will lead directly to the annihilation of the Navy’s Fifth Fleet now stationed in the Persian Gulf. Lt. General Paul Van Riper led a hypothetical Persian Gulf state in the 2002 Millennium Challenge wargames that resulted in the destruction of the Fifth Fleet. His experience and conclusions regarding the vulnerability of the Fifth Fleet to an asymmetrical military conflict and the implications for a war against Iran have been ignored. Neoconservatives within the Bush administration are currently aggressively promoting a range of military actions against Iran that will culminate in it attacking the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet with sophisticated cruise anti-ship missiles. They are ignoring Van Riper’s experiences in the Millennium Challenge and how it applies to the current nuclear conflict with Iran.

Iran has sufficient quantities of cruise missiles to destroy much or all of the Fifth Fleet which is within range of Iran’s mobile missile launchers strategically located along its mountainous terrain overlooking the Persian Gulf. The Bush administration is deliberately downplaying the vulnerability of the Fifth Fleet to Iran’s advanced missile technology which has been purchased from Russia and China since the late 1990’s. The most sophisticated of Iran’s cruise missiles are the ‘Sunburn’ and ‘Yakhonts’. These are missiles against which U.S. military experts conclude modern warships have no effective defense. By deliberately provoking an Iranian retaliation to U.S. military actions, the neoconservatives will knowingly sacrifice much or all of the Fifth Fleet. This will culminate in a new Pearl Harbor that will create the right political environment for total war against Iran, and expanded military actions in the Persian Gulf region.

The Fifth Fleet’s Vulnerability to Iran’s Anti-Ship Missile Arsenal

The U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet is headquartered in the Gulf State of Bahrain which is responsible for patrolling the Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea, Suez Canal and parts of the Indian Ocean. The Fifth Fleet currently comprises a carrier group and two helicopter carrier ships. Its size peaked at five aircraft carrier groups and six helicopter carriers in 2003 during the invasion of Iraq. Presently, it is led by the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier commissioned in 1961, and on November 2, began participating in a Naval exercise in the Persian Gulf . RAW Story also published an article that also adds to the war planning, and as usual, Israel is in bed with Bush and Cheney, or visa versa, whichever way you care to phrase it!

Israel, US to set up joint committees on Iran: report

Published: Friday November 9, 2007

Israel and the United States have agreed to appoint two working committees in order to hone a joint strategy against Iran's nuclear ambitions, public radio reported on Friday.

Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz headed discussions on the matter in the United States this week, it said.

One committee will deal with intelligence on Iran's nuclear drive and the other with international sanctions, the chief weapon in an effort to convince Tehran to halt uranium enrichment.

The next formal discussions between Israeli and US officials on Iran will be in two months in Israel, the radio station reported.

On Thursday, Mofaz called for Mohamed ElBaradei to be removed as head of UN nuclear watchdog the International Atomic Energy Agency, saying he had turned a blind eye to Iran's nuclear ambitions. MUCH MORE

Correction: When I originally posted this piece, I erroneously stated the full strike force was not included. My apology, however, the fact remains that the post on the Navy Forum on its face is of concern - and why are we still running operations in a volatile region that Bush and Cheney wish to attack? Rather than deescalating tensions, it appears that once again, we are preparing for a conflict with the oldest US nuclear powered Carrier in the Fleet. As I stated, this is for informational purposes, and we cannot be certain that the publication on the Navy forum did not help to deter such an action - thus my reposting of that information again when it's an obvious move at "saber rattling" by Bush and Cheney.
